Knoxville Marathon 2013

So proud of my husband. So Proud! He ran the Knoxville Marathon this past Sunday. And he did great! Dad and I ran the half ... so we were with him during the first 13 miles of the race. I'll walk you through the day via pictures :)

Here we are at 6:45 am. YAY! About to head over to the start

The dreaded Noelton Hill. Mile 7 ish (ignore moms thumb in the corner. She struggles sometimes)

Dad and I finished 13.1 and met up with Mom and Cal. Then we headed over to Island Home (Mile 20) to see Andy run.

Here he is!!! Doing great!

I jumped in at Mile 20 (ish) and ran with him to encourage him. He said this was the hardest part of the race. He was getting tired and the sun was really starting to come out. He kept on running though :)

And here he is entering Neyland! About to finish 26.2 miles. Go Andy Go!

HE DID IT! Way to go Andy!

And then we ate and drank and crashed. The End.
It was so much fun to watch him accomplish this. His goal was to finish under 5 hours and run the entire time. And he did just that! Andy Fennell is a marathoner y'all!

Easter Weekend

What a fun Easter Weekend we had! I was off on good Friday which was AMAZING. I don't remember the last time I stayed in my pjs until noon ... but that is exactly what I did. I got all caught up on housework and errands, and had a great date night with my husband.
Saturday we spent time with our Amachi kids. We went over to their house and participated in the Easter Egg hunt they were having. Side note: They hid hard boiled eggs ... not the plastic ones with candy inside. Yes I was astonished.

And Easter Sunday Andy and I ditched the fam and headed to the mountains. I can't think of a better place to celebrate our creator. We had so much fun. So thankful we took a day for our marriage and spent time together.

He is Risen!

Happy April

On the first day of every month this happens ...
Andy is red. I am pink. Events are green. And things we do together are orange.
Am I psycho?!
Our schedules are so crazy that if it doesn't get written down we are doomed! Every Sunday I write down Andy's work schedule for the following week. We kinda live week to week in the Fennell house. We never know whats coming next ... Unless it is on the CALENDAR! I like to plan. I like to organize. And I am very visual. Thank goodness Andy puts up with me :) sooooo Happy April yall!

Adventures with Angel and Izaah

Fact: When I hang out with kids I feel like a kid again!
Andy and I have had so much fun getting to know our Amachi kids. They are very unique, and we enjoy spending time with them. This past weekend we had a downtown Knoxville adventure. They live in Halls, so this was special for them because they do not often come downtown.
We went up in the Sunsphere. This was Izaah's first time in the Sunshpere. I love how you can see so much of Knoxville from the top. While up there we played I spy. There were lots of fun things to spy :).
Then we headed over to the Knoxville Museum of Art. Angel LOOOVES art and is very artistic.
And then we finished off the day at Fort Kid. Who doesn't love this place?!?!

Training

Last year I ran the Knoxville Marathon. It was one of the hardest yet most rewarding things I have ever done. So glad I did it!

Have you ever trained for something? If you haven't you should. There is something wonderful about working up to something and then finally doing it!
All that to say ... This year Andy is running the Knoxville Marathon. I think part of him can't stand the fact that I have done something more athletic :). I have been running with him during his training. It has been fun to watch him progress! I am already so proud of him. I can't wait to cheer him on for 26.2 miles

Life

I feel like we have been running around like crazy people.
Busy schedules. Busy lives.

I think part of what has made the past few weeks feel so busy is that Colbie has been sick. Really sick. We give her all sorts of meds and shots and special food. She will be fine for a couple of days but then goes down hill again. So hopefully she will get better soon!!! She has been resting a lot to try to make her tummy feel better ...
She still feels ok enough to help daddy work ...
We have also had a lot of fun getting to know our Amachi kids. They are so much fun. They have really started to open up and let us in. I'm so glad we have the opportunity to build a friendship with Angel and Izaah. Here we are at one of our hangouts. We ate pizza and played cards. Very fun night ...
And we have been working. Here is Andy at "All you can eat nugget night." One kid ate 104 nuggets! 104!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow
And one day we matched for work. So naturally I had to take a picture ...
And last but not least. I am now certified to teach group fitness classes :). I went through a training and passed the test. Wahoooo. So now I have been going to a lot of group workout classes to try to learn. Hopefully I will be ready in the near future to actually teach one.
Happy Monday Everybody!

Weekend Fun

What a weekend! It had a bad start but a great ending. Friday night Colbie got really sick. Long story short we think she ingested some cleaning supplies. I took her to the vet early Saturday morning. She had to get lots of shots and meds. They coated her stomach with some kind of fluid, and she has been doing great since then. We have to give her medicine every 4 hours and feed her special food ... but she is alive!
What a treat! I can't even remember the last time I got my nails done.Saturday afternoon I got my nails done with this diva...
And Saturday night Jenn and Ryan got engaged. YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! So excited for them.
Sunday after church Andy and I hung out with our Amachi Kids. Angel and Izaah. We went to sonic and got treats and then to the playground. It was very fun. We are looking forward to our next hang out.
And then to top off a great weekend Andy had a flag football game! And they won! Go team. Here is Andy with their team manager (aka Alex) ...
Happy Monday Everyone!
