Date Night

We leave for New York Friday at 7:00 a.m. Sometimes you have to get through a schedule like this to get to NYC! ..
Every Saturday Andy gets his schedule for the week. This has been one of the hardest things for me regarding his job. I am a planner, and not getting your schedule until a day before the week starts is not good for a planner! But I can adapt. Right?
Andy and I just started something new. Every week when we get his schedule we pick one night we have free and set it aside as a date night. We take turns planning the date. Sometimes we eat in. Sometimes we go out. Sometimes we sit and watch movies. Sometimes we are active. Here are a few of my favs.

Tupelo Honey and Orange Leaf. Can you guess who planned this one?

Arts and Crafts :)
Grilled Chicken and Golf
Every week on our date we ask each other 3 questions.
1. What is one way I made you feel loved this week?
2. What can I do to love you better?
3. How can I be praying for you?

It has been a blessing to set aside time and "touch base." I am thankful for a husband who is intentional.

Today I am thankful

Meet Miss Crawford. I am thankful for people like her. She is my friend, and if you meet her she will be yours too. She is one of those people that always makes you feel right at home. I got to see her classroom. Yes classroom. She is a teacher. And a darn good one at that. She has so much passion for teaching and making a difference in children that it is contagious.

The Bearden Gang. Go dogs.
I am thankful for these ladies and the continued friendship I have had with them since High School. I don't know what I would do without them in my life. I got to go to dinner with them this past week. So refreshing to catch up on life.

Thankful for my sweet friend Kelli who gave me these flowers. Her and her fiance came over for dinner this past week. I am going to be in her wedding in May. I am excited to celebrate this season of life with her.

I am thankful for my job. I am doing something I LOVE. Work doesn't feel like work anymore. I don't dread the next day, I actually look forward to it. Thankful for the doors the Lord opened to allow me to work for such a wonderful company.

Thankful that in 14 days I will be in NYC about to go to a Yankees game. For my mom's 50th she wanted to go to New York for the weekend. And what Meg wants Meg gets :) so off we go to NYC.

Well another beach vacation has come and gone. We went to Jekyll Island with the Fennell family. It was a quick trip, but well worth the drive!

We came home early because I got to celebrate this little bride :)

Here are all the Bearden Gals (minus Cass) at her Luncheon. It was at Apple Cake Tea Room. I loved getting to spend time with everyone and start the wedding festivities.

The rehearsal dinner was at Barleys. It was a pizza bar. What a great idea! It was such a fun night. I feel so blessed to have been a part of this very special night.

And then finally WEDDIG DAY! Here is the bride getting her makeup done

We love weddings!

And my wonderful husband who has been such a fun wedding date this summer. So thankful to call him my dance partner and friend.

So what else is new you might ask ... Well my car has been leaking oil. Yup. Oil. The idiots who changed my oil this past time didn't screw the cap back on. Did you know that Kitty Litter cleans up oil? Well atleast cats are good for one thing.

Trouty turned 52! Wohoo Happy Birthday Daddio

I get to decorate Chick-fil-A for special events. I love my job!

And drum roll please ... I cut my hair off today!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
I cut off 12 inches. 12! It is so short yall. So short. But it will grow.

Thats all for now. Enjoy :)

We had a blast dancing the night away

The Chick-fil-A Catering business has been booming! I have had so much fun in my new job. It is such a great fit for me. I love that each day is different, and that I can set my own schedule.

My new job has allowed Andy and I to spend a lot more time together. LOVE THIS! We had a lunch date day this past week and went to Tomato Head. I am thankful we get to see each other more, and have loved getting to do fun things throughout the week.

Summer means being active right? Andy and I have turned into an active crew. Tennis, golf, and biking. Our three new hobbies.

Yup. That is me with a hair net on. Sometimes when I go into the store and they are busy I just hop right in there to help. Eat More Chicken.

July

Sorry for the blogging absence. I have been trying to get the hang of my new job. Let me fill you in on life. I left the law firm the end of June. They made me feel so loved ... and made it hard to leave.

For two weeks now I have been the "catering coordinator" for 3 Chick-fil-A stores in Knoxville. I love it! Every day looks a little bit different, and I very much so enjoy the variety. What a great company I have been given the opportunity to work for.
Here are 3 of the prep ladies. I spend lots of time with these cheerful women. Only one can speak clear English ... but we all share lots of smiles :)

And the best part of my job is that I get to learn how to work for a company that my sweet husband loves and is passionate about. We kinda work together. Let me explain ... I work in 3 different stores, and sometimes I work from home. So I see Andy in passing when I am at the Homberg store. It is fun to see him in action. He is so good at what he does. I am thankful for his hard work and the passion the Lord has given him.
Here we are on our first Cow Appreciation Day.
Until next time ... Eat More Chikin :)

All things

Romans 8:28
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

I am constantly being reminded of how great our God is. Especially this past week and weekend.
Y'all. I have a new job. And I am really excited about it. This pretty little thing is now taking over my position at the law firm. She is going to do such a great job.
I got to see my sweet friend Laine on Friday! We met at 5:45 ...yes a.m. to walk just like old times. It was so refreshing to see her and catch up on life. What a treat! I am so thankful for her friendship.
I have great friends. This past weekend I sat and people watched in market square with this crew. Love them
And wiffle ball. Who doesn't love wiffle ball?! The annual wiffle ball banquet was on Sunday. Andy reverts back to being a 16 year old CHILD when this event rolls around every year. He played hours of wiffle ball, ate hot dogs, and set off fireworks. Yes. Fireworks. Thank you Widmers for not kicking him out of your house like you should have. When we got home from the banquet he looked at me and said, "Well I guess it is time to grow up and be an adult again." I'm thankful for this group of boys and the friendship they have.
